Why Toronto pet owners choose TVS

Open late, 7 days a week

Both clinics are open every day, including evenings and weekends, and our North York location stays open as late as 11pm. When other clinics close for the night or the weekend, we’re still here for your pet.

Same-day urgent care when it can’t wait

If your pet is hurt or suddenly unwell, our team treats urgent injuries and illness during opening hours, seven days a week, and tells you honestly what needs attention now and what can safely wait. By appointment only, text or call us for a visit.

Clear guidance and upfront pricing

We’re an education-first practice. We explain what’s going on in plain language, quote costs upfront, and recommend only what your pet truly needs. The decision always stays yours

One team, two clinics, one record

Your pet’s history travels with them between our North York and Parliament veterinary clinics, and you can reach us by phone, text, or email, whichever is easiest. After every visit, we follow up.

We have more to offer

We offer a full range of services.

Independent, Canadian, and part of your neighbourhood

TVS Animal Hospitals has cared for Toronto and North York pets since 2009. We’re proudly independent and Canadian-owned, so the people treating your pet are the ones deciding how to care for them. Our founder, Behrooz Tamjidi DVM, built TVS around relationship-driven medicine. He gets to know each pet and owner, explains every option plainly, and follows up long after the appointment ends. We look after your pet the way we'd look after our own.

Common Questions

Owners trust us with the animals they love, and we don’t take that lightly.

How much does dog or cat allergy testing cost?

It depends on what your pet needs: the exam, any skin or ear cytology, blood testing for environmental triggers, or a supervised food trial. We quote everything upfront before testing begins, and we’ll be honest about which tests are worth running for your pet and which aren’t. Call either clinic and we’ll walk you through it.

Are you open 24 hours?

No, we're not open 24 hours. We're an urgent care animal hospital and clinic, open 7 days a week, with late evening hours in North York. If your pet needs urgent care overnight while we're closed, a 24-hour hospital is the right place to go.

Do you take walk-ins, or do I need an appointment?

Booking ahead gives you the shortest wait, and you can book online or by phone in about a minute. For urgent injuries or illness, walk-ins are welcome during opening hours when we have capacity, so call ahead and we’ll be ready for your pet.

Are you open on weekends and in the evening?

Yes, both clinics are open 7 days a week, including Saturday and Sunday. Toronto North in North York is open 10am to 11pm Monday through Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Sunday. Parliament in Cabbagetown is open 10am to 7pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 11am to 6pm on Tuesday, 10am to 5pm on Thursday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Often, yes. We keep room for same-day urgent visits for sick or injured pets at both our animal hospitals. Call Toronto North or Parliament and we'll find the soonest time, the same day wherever possible.

How much does a vet visit cost?

Costs depend on what your pet needs, so we quote prices upfront before we proceed and explain your options clearly. We’re an education-first practice and won’t push services your pet doesn’t need. Call us for an estimate on a specific visit or procedure.

What should I bring to my pet’s first visit?

Bring any previous medical records, a list of current medications, and details of your pet’s diet. If your pet is on parasite or heartworm prevention, note the product. New to us? You can register online before you arrive to save time at check-in.

Do you treat both dogs and cats?

Yes. We care for dogs and cats at every stage of their life, from new puppies and kittens to senior pets, covering everything from wellness exams and vaccinations to dental, surgery, and urgent care.

Where are your clinics, and is there parking?

We have two Toronto-area clinics: Toronto North Animal Hospital at 223 Sheppard Ave W in North York, serving Willowdale, Lansing, and Bayview Village, and Parliament Animal Hospital at 584 Parliament St in Cabbagetown, serving Riverdale, Regent Park, and Corktown. Parking and transit details are on each clinic’s location page.

How do I book or contact you?

Book online any time, or reach us by phone, text, or email, whichever is easiest. You’ll find numbers and addresses for both clinics in the footer, and our team usually replies the same day.
